Sanguinetti Achieves 600th Career Win

San Antonio, TX- Head Women's Soccer Coach, Fredy Sanguinetti, has built an impressive resume, to say the least. Last Saturday's win against Xavier University just so happened to be Coach Sanguinetti's 600th career win as a head coach.

Since taking over the women's soccer program at Texas A&M-San Antonio, Coach Sanguinetti has a record of 15-5-6. Prior to his arrival at A&M-San Antonio, Coach Sanguinetti had an unbelievable record of 232-27-30 as a head coach of high school girls and 353-46-53 as a head coach of high school boys. His overall record is 600-78-89, which is good for a mind-boggling winning percentage of 78%.

For Coach Sanguinetti, it is an "on to the next game" mentality that has been, perhaps, the secret to his success. In fact, he was not even aware that the win was any sort of milestone other than it being a W. "Honestly, it is not something I really keep track of; my family keeps track of it. I did not know anything was going on until the women dumped the cooler of ice on me, and noticed my wife had a banner made. Of course, it is flattering, and I am appreciative, but the next game will always be the most important game in my book. At the end of the day, what it really means to me is knowing that I have been blessed with an opportunity to work with a lot of amazing athletes. The credit goes to them."

Coach Sanguinetti and the women's soccer team are back in action today at Louisiana Christian University, and Coach Sanguinetti hopes that there are more milestones to come. "I am beyond happy working with this amazing group of young women, and if they continue to buy in as a team of what could be, we all will continue to be blessed with successful results."
