Bio

Fredy Sanguinetti is in his first season as the Head Coach of Women's Soccer team.

Sanguinetti comes to A&M-San Antonio after a long and storied career as one of the more successful boys' and girls' high school soccer coaches in Texas high school soccer history. Most recently he was the Head Coach for girls' soccer at Cinco Ranch High School in Katy ISD.  

Sanguinetti began his coaching career in 1993 as the Head Coach for boys' soccer at Edinburg High School with stops at Stratford High School (Spring Branch ISD), Elsik High School (Alief ISD), Morton Ranch High School (Katy ISD), and Cinco Ranch High School (Katy ISD). He has amassed one of the more astounding coaching records in all of Texas high school soccer with a record of 353-46-53 as a boys coach and 232-27-30 as a girls coach, which totals up to an overall record of 585-73-83.

Between his boys' and girls' teams, Sanguinetti has racked up 13 District Championships, 20 Bi-District Championships, 18 Area Championships, six Regional Championships, and his team(s) made it to the semi-finals of the University Interscholastic League (UIL) soccer championship tournament six times. His other accomplishments include being named Region III Coach of the Year five times by the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches.

Sanguinetti has a Bachelor's of Arts in Education from the University of Texas- Pan American, (now University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley), and a Master's of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from Full Sail University. He played soccer at UTPA, and he was inducted into the 2019 class of their Athletic Hall of Honor for his achievements on the soccer pitch.
