Jaguars Race Past Our Lady of the Lake with Explosive First Half

San Antonio, TX- Texas A&M University–San Antonio erupted for four first-half goals and held off a late rally to defeat Our Lady of the Lake University 5–3 on Saturday afternoon in San Antonio.

The Jaguars wasted no time setting the tone, scoring just two minutes into the match. Moments later, the duo swapped roles — Hernandez struck in the 5th minute, assisted by Aguilar, to double the advantage.

The Jaguars kept pressing as David Torres scored in the 17th minute, finishing a pass from Joey De La Torre, and Andres Rodriguez capped the first-half onslaught in the 22nd minute, assisted again by Aguilar. By halftime, A&M–San Antonio led 4–0 and had outshot the Saints 7–2.

Aguilar added his second goal of the day in the 49th minute to make it 5–0, but the Saints refused to go quietly. Cade Ryan scored twice for Our Lady of the Lake — including a penalty kick — and assisted Caleb Chagoy's goal in the 82nd minute to close the gap to 5–3.

Goalkeepers Marco Matranga and Oscar Garza split time in goal for the Jaguars, combining for four saves. Garza made three key stops in the second half to preserve the win.
