Jaguars Lose Sight of Rams

Fort Worth, TX- The Jaguar women's soccer team traveled to Fort Worth to take on the Rams of Texas Wesleyan University (NAIA, Sooner Athletic Conference), and, in a match the Jaguars would like to have back, the Jaguars fell to the Rams 4-2.

The Rams got on board first, and early on, putting one in goal at the 9:20 mark, which put them up 1-0. However, the Jaguars were able to respond relatively quickly on a Jasmin Domingues goal (Skyler Parker assist) at the 18:12 mark making it a 1-1 match. The Jaguars would then go up 2-1 with a goal from Yhoalibeth Alvarez at the 36:53 mark. The Jaguars went into halftime ahead by that score.

The Jaguars came into the second half, having played a good first half, continuing quality play. Unfortunately, for a team that is still developing, they had a hand-full of lapses in playing a quality brand of soccer, which led to three unanswered goals. The Rams were able to convert goals at the 59:36, 74:25, and 86:20 marks to take a commanding 4-2 lead and ultimately the win.

Coach Tim Moody commented, "We were able to score two goals in the first half, which put us up in the match. Quite frankly, that should have been enough to win. For much of the match we were able to connect quality play with more of the same, but then we had flashes of inconsistent play, and that was all it took to put us behind. The reality is, we have the skill and ability to be a quality group, but we have to find consistency in making intelligent decisions and approaching every minute of a match with positivity and a determined demeanor."
