Three Women’s Soccer Played Tabbed as 2022 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Earlier today, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the list of 2022 Daktronics NAIA Women's Soccer Scholar-Athletes recipients. The sophomore trio of goalkeeper Maram Abdeljaber (El Paso, Texas/Franklin), forwards Krystal Goytia (San Antonio, Texas/Clark), and Aleah Montes (San Antonio, Texas/Harlan) all made the list following their hard work in the classroom and on the pitch.

From the NAIA Release:

The 2022 list features 1,557 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.

All three players made great contributions to the success of the Jaguars by appearing in more than 10 matches en route to the programs first Red River Athletic Conference post season tournament.

Under the direction of first year Head Coach Fredy Sanguinetti, the Jaguars improved from (3-8-2, 3-6-2 RRAC) to (9-4-3, 6-3-2 RRAC) and finished as the sixth seed in the RRAC despite being picked to finish 10th out of 12 teams in the conference Preseason Poll.
