Texas A&M–San Antonio Falls in Road Upset at Texas College, 76–74

Tyler, TX- Texas A&M–San Antonio couldn't overcome a difficult night taking care of the basketball and a late push from Texas College, falling 76–74 on the road Thursday in a conference upset.

The Jaguars (6–4, 3–1 RRAC) led briefly in the first quarter and trailed just 37–32 at halftime, but 23 turnovers and Texas College's dominance in the paint proved too much to overcome. The Steers outscored A&M–San Antonio 38–24 inside and used a 14-point fourth-quarter lead to hold off a late Jaguars rally.

Evelyn Lorenzo continued her strong stretch of play, leading the Jaguars with 23 points on 7–for–13 shooting while adding five rebounds. Talaiyah Andrews provided an efficient 12 points and five offensive rebounds, and TaMya Whitemon added 12 points and three assists. Aniyah Lewis reached double figures with 10 points, including two fourth-quarter threes that helped fuel a late push.

Texas College countered with a balanced attack. Fae Green powered the Steers with 18 points and six rebounds, while Rakia Lee added 19 points and Neani Stewart scored 13. The Steers shot 48% from the field and converted 20 free throws, including several crucial makes in the final minutes.

A&M–San Antonio outscored Texas College 22–15 in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to single digits behind an aggressive stretch from Lorenzo and key defensive stops. But Texas College's earlier run—and the Jaguars' struggles protecting the ball—kept the comeback just out of reach.

The Jaguars return to action looking to regroup as conference play continues.
