Jaguars Fall on the Road to No. 2 Bethel

McKenzie, TN- Texas A&M–San Antonio ran into one of the nation's toughest tests on Saturday afternoon, falling 91–51 to No. 2 Bethel (Tenn.) inside Crisp Arena.

The Jaguars (3–3) struggled to find rhythm early as the Wildcats opened the game on a blistering pace. Bethel, unbeaten on the season, shot 52.3% from the field and connected on 12 three-pointers while holding A&M–San Antonio to 26.5% shooting.

Despite the deficit, the Jaguars showed their competitiveness over the final 20 minutes, putting together their most efficient offensive stretch in the fourth quarter.

Maya Simon delivered a standout performance from beyond the arc, scoring a team-high 14 points on 4-of-5 three-point shooting, with all her damage coming after halftime. Zara'Nique Nealy provided energy on both ends, finishing with 8 points, 5 steals, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds in 14 minutes.

Victoria Adeniran added 8 points and 5 rebounds, while Emily Carranco chipped in 7 points, including a pair of late buckets that helped spark the fourth-quarter push. A&M–SA's bench contributed 42 of the team's 51 points, a bright spot in the matchup.

Defensively, the Jaguars forced 24 Bethel turnovers and recorded 17 steals, highlighted by Nealy and Zaadiyah Stovall, who tallied four steals of her own.

Bethel (10–0) was powered by a dominant performance from Mikee Buchanan, who scored 27 points on 12-of-18 shooting while grabbing 12 rebounds.
