Softball to Compete at RRAC Tournament
Pineville, LA- For the fourth time in five seasons the Jaguar softball team has advanced to the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Softball Tournament. In fact, the Jaguars have qualified for the RRAC tournament in every season they have been eligible (previous association rules would not allow a first-year program to compete in the postseason). The Jaguars finished the 2025 regular season in fifth place, so they will begin play in the tournament as the fifth seed.
Head Coach Nicole Dame's group finished the regular season with a regular season record of 21-25 (.457) and an RRAC record of 14-14 (.500). The team's leading hitter was Samara Aguilera coming through the end of the regular season with a .409 batting average and a .553 slugging percentage. Freshmen standout Kristianna Luera was not far off with a .404 batting average and a .461 slugging percentage. Kaylee Barlow led to team in stollen bases with 40 (third most in the RRAC). The Jaguars pitching staff was led by Ryanne Limon who carried a 12-7 record with an ERA of 2.93.
Regarding the tournament, Coach Dame commented, "We had some ups and downs this season playing through a tough schedule, but I was proud of the girls for how they played down the stretch. Securing the fifth seed put us on a more favorable path through the tournament, and I feel like we are going to be able to put together a run. Hopefully it will look like it did in 2023, except with us ending up with the championship."
As the fifth seed, the Jaguars will face University of Houstin-Victoria in game one of the double elimination tournament at 9:30am on May 1st. The RRAC tournament is being co-hosted by Louisiana Christian University and LSU-Alexandria in Pineville, LA, and all tournament information, to include live-streaming information, can be found here.
