Texas A&M-San Antonio partners with Sports Medicine Associates and Methodist Sports Medicine

SAN ANTONIO – The Texas A&M University–San Antonio athletics department has announced a partnership with Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio (SMASA) and Methodist Sports Medicine to be the official medical providers of Jaguar athletics.

SMASA are the Official Team Physicians for the Texas A&M University–San Antonio Athletics Department and Methodist Sports Medicine serves as the Official Healthcare provider.

"We are pleased to partner with Sports Medicine Associates and Methodist Sports Medicine," A&M–San Antonio's Athletic Director Darnell Smith said. "The care and well-being of our student-athletes is of great importance, and this partnership will help ensure our athletes will compete at their fullest potential."

Board Certified Family Medicine physicians and Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeons make up SMASA. The sports medicine department also works with, and has direct access to, the best subspecialists in the area.

Both Sports Medicine Associates and Methodist Sports Medicine provide necessary resources to assist A&M–San Antonio's sports medicine department and give student-athletes access to quality medical care.

SMASA and Methodist Sports Medicine have worked with area and regional college athletics programs providing quality healthcare to student-athletes for more than a quarter century.
