Jaguars Fall to The Masters University (CA)

Santa Clarita, CA- Texas A&M–San Antonio battled early but couldn't keep pace in the second half, falling 93–65 to The Master's University on Friday night at The MacArthur Center. The loss drops the Jaguars to 0–4 on the young season.

The Jaguars trailed by just four at halftime (34–30) before the Mustangs caught fire after the break, outscoring A&M–San Antonio 59–35 in the second half. The Master's hit 15 three-pointers and shot 87% from the free throw line to pull away late.

Sophomore forward Felix Greif led the Jaguars with 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting and added four rebounds. Carson Brown contributed 12 points and six boards, while Joseph Taylor and Xzavier Brown each chipped in seven points. The Jaguars' bench was productive, outscoring The Master's reserves 35–49 and grabbing 16 offensive rebounds as part of a 48–44 edge on the glass.

However, turnovers proved costly. A&M–San Antonio committed 19 miscues, leading to 17 Mustang points, and struggled from the free-throw line, converting just 12 of 33 attempts (36.4%).

For The Master's, Caden DeVries posted a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Nate Boakye and Quincy Phillips added 13 and 12 points, respectively. The hosts shot 42.6% from the field and 36.6% from deep.

The Jaguars will look to bounce back on Saturday when they face Stanton College (CA).
